How do I remove/delete a project?
If you have started a project that you won’t continue, you can delete it. The “Delete” option is in the 3-dot menu in the Project view, to the right of the project name. Note: If a voice talent is invited or assigned to the project, you must uninvite or unassign them before you can delete it. Projects with invited talents, in progress, or completed cannot be deleted. However, you can archive completed projects via the 3-dot menu. To view archived projects, select “Show

Download files. What format should I use?
We recommend using -16 LUFS “Mastered for web videos” for all projects that do not require a specific loudness standard. -16 LUFS works well for web content and most other types of productions. By using dynamically loudness-mastered files, all audio will have a consistent format and perceived level, regardless of what the voice talent uploaded. This makes editing takes and doing pickups much easier, as they will match in volume. It also simplifies producing loudness-consiste

How to Deliver Loudness-Correct Web Videos Without Being a Sound Engineer
You may have noticed that some web videos have inconsistent volume—one clip is barely audible, while the next is uncomfortably loud. Television faced a similar problem with commercials but solved it years ago with standardized loudness levels. Today, most web services have adopted similar loudness standards. While learning all the technical details might not be everyone’s priority, consistent audio is crucial for a professional experience. At Voicemachine, we process all uplo

8 tips that will improve your VO script.
Here are a few tips on how to improve your script for spoken English (and other languages). By using these simple tricks the voice talent will know where to pause, how to pronounce, what words you would like to be emphasized, etc. It's important to tell the voice talent where to pause if you know you'll need to cut or edit in post. This avoids unnecessary retakes by getting it right first time. 1. Use commas, dots, and underlines to tell the voice talent where to pause, what

Shortlist a voice talent
You can shortlist (invite) and chat with up to 3 voices at the same time. Ask for availability and even a custom demo if you like to hear them read a bit of your script. Normally most talents will answer within a few hours. You can remove a voice from the project and shortlist a new one if you like. Please note that you will NOT be charged when you shortlist voices. An order is not created until you decide to "Assign" a voice and the voice accepts the assignment.

Delivery of recorded audio
You will be notified in the chat when the voice talent has delivered the recorded audio (uploaded under Files in the project). You will receive one or several takes, depending on the length of the script and your directions. In our standard projects, all uploads by the talent are automatically named Take 1, Take 2, etc., for easy reference. If needed, ask the voice talent to comment in the chat on the uploaded takes and indicate which take they think is best. The talent ca

We recommend requesting a custom demo, where the talent reads a few lines of your script before you hire them, to avoid any casting mistakes. The assignment is not valid until the talent accepts it. You can “un-assign” them until they do. Once the talent accepts, the project becomes an order, and the agreed amount will be charged to your credit card. I’m not happy with the sound quality. What should I do?
If you’re not satisfied with the sound quality, contact Voicemachine. We will compare the delivered audio to the voice talent’s studio-quality demo. If the quality is lower than the demo, we will remaster the audio, arrange a free rerecording, or issue a refund. Can I have several talents in a project?
A project can only have one “assigned” voice talent. If you need several voice talents start one project per talent. If they, for example, should interact with each other you can still arrange that by a group call or by sending the voice recorded first to the other voice talent as a reference to read against. If your project is complex contact us to customize your project to your needs.
